Kings Mountain is about 20 minutes from our house. You actually have to go into NC on the freeway to get there. Then you cross back across the state line to enter. (It is a National park in both states). They had a very nice visitor's center with a movie that was actually made by the History Channel. There were a lot of guns and other tools that were found here, in cases and on display. They had you walk through "the forest" and go inside "trees" to listen to stories about different facets of the battle. Apparently, both here, AND Cowpens was "The turning point" in the Revolutionary war. We thought that was funny.
